Your tasks

• Responsible for building, managing, and optimizing data pipelines in Borealis Group;
• Ensure move of data pipelines effectively into production for key data and analytics consumers including enabling access to external data sources;
• Responsible for creation of data sources catalog for in Borealis Group;
• Collaboration with data architect to ensure compliance to best data management practices, work with and challenge data owners, stewards and users in business and collaborate with external providers;
• Creates specific cloud application layers (raw, processing and serving) with proper transformations;
• Creates complex processes for injection / transformation (ELT – Extract, Load and Transform) of different sources into an existing DataLake on a cloud platform using Data Factory / Databricks;
• Pro-actively facilitate continuous improvement and harvesting of existing IT solutions for data management;
• Identify and analyze patterns in the volume of data supporting the initiative, the type of data (e.g., images, text, clickstream, or metering data) and the speed or sudden variations in data collection.

Your profile

• Master’s degree: Computer Science, Engineering or Business;
• Relevant professional experience: more than 9 years;
• Specific Microsoft Azure certifications: Azure Fundamentals, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Developer Associate;
• Excellent experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud services in general as well as Databricks;
• Excellent experience with data pipeline, workflow management and stream-processing systems tools;
• Technical expertise with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.;
• Advanced programming skills such as Hadoop MapReduce or other big data frameworks, Java and statistical modelling like SAS tableau or R;
• Advanced expertise in working with tolls like: Power BI;
• Advanced expertise working with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and Cassandra;
• Fluent in English language, capable of writing well in English and holding discussions and meetings with non-Romanian parties.
