Your tasks
- Acts as OMV Petrom Group-wide subject matter expert on all environmental management topics, in particular related to environmental risk assessment, biodiversity and soil management aspects, showing a very good understanding of the interdependencies between Petrom Group business activities; advises senior management on the most suitable methods within the area of expertise; focuses on identifying and exploiting Petrom Group-wide synergies related to the area of expertise and thus prioritizing the various related initiatives in line with available resources and targets
- Shows creative and innovating thinking for developing policy, strategy, targets and KPI’s on OMV Petrom Group level on environmental risk assessment, biodiversity and soil management but also on environmental management topics in general, in alignment with OMV team, thus driving the reduction of environmental and in particular biodiversity and soil-related risks (including spills) within OMV Petrom Group; advises and develops specific measures in conjunction with relevant senior and operational management, in line with local/international best practices as identified via periodical benchmarking reviews
- Is responsible for recommending, developing, managing and monitoring standards, processes, communications, trainings and systems for improvement of environmental risk assessment, biodiversity and soil management (including spills) at OMV Petrom Group level along with the associated cross-divisional audit program and monitoring of improvement measures implementation
- Oversees the development of appropriate Environmental Management Plans, Spill response plans and Biodiversity action plans across all of OMV Petrom Group operations; actively contributes to ensuring consistency of approach and use of synergies
- Supports, monitors and improves Petrom group wide biodiversity and soil related reporting (incl spills), including the definition, implementation and follow-up of general environmental risk assessments; constantly evaluates reporting performance process, ensuring efficiency, relevance and data quality
- Develops, delivers, monitors and reports on training programs targeted at relevant operational HSSE staff across OMV Petrom Group covering environmental risk assessment, biodiversity and soil management topics, driving capability building for all positions involved in this complex process
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental/technical engineering
- A professional lead with extensive knowledge across own discipline. Has excellent understanding of the business context, all interfaces and interdependencies and manages complex workflows with other disciplines. ISO 14001 auditor.
- Relevant professional experience: > 5 years
- IT skills: computer literate with solid knowledge of standard Office software, MS Teams, Project Management
- Language skills: excellent command of (written and spoken) English and Romanian
- Working knowledge: knowledge of environmental management systems and ISO14001 in particular; Professional delivery of projects; Experienced in development and implementation of Environmental Management Plans including Biodiversity action plans; in-depth knowledge of national, European and international legislation regarding biodiversity; Environmental auditing; Oil spill response planning; Knowledge of international (especially EU) environmental and risk assessment legislation
