Sr. Expert Electrical Engineering

Your Tasks

• Sr Expert Electrical Engineering in High Voltage/Medium Voltage systems is responsible for designing, reviewing, leading and optimizing electrical infrastructure projects involved in OMV Petrom Renewable projects.
• Sr Expert Electrical Engineering will support the implementation and development of renewable energy projects (wind, solar, energy storage etc.) and will coordinate, execute and control the Electrical Engineering activities in accordance with project requirements within the assigned budget, time schedule and quality standards.
• Create schematic drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
  Perform power system studies: load flow, short circuit, relay coordination, grounding.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers and designers.
• Oversee project deliverables, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Prepare estimates, proposals, and conceptual designs for clients.
• Review and approve engineering documentation.
• Conduct site surveys, inspections, and factory acceptance tests (FAT).
• Support construction, testing, and commissioning phases.
• Collaborate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Participate in interdepartmental and client meetings.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Manage all design activities in his areas of expertise throughout the life of the projects, including but not limited to tendering, detailed design, construction, pre commissioning, commissioning and operation activities.
• Provides electrical engineering knowledge, expertise and guidance to the team, analyzing new initiatives from the technical (feasibility, conceptual, basic and detailed design) and economical (costs analysis) point of view, acts as knowledge reference for electrical engineering field.
• Establish the most appropriate technical solutions for the development of the project design and for the Project’s realization: design to Safety, Design to Cost and optimization process
• Preparation of technical specification package and technical analysis of project contractor (equipment, works and services), in coordination with Project team, Senior Project Manager and other stakeholders (Divestment, Portfolio Management, Procurement, etc.)
• Plan the project design activities (Engineering and Execution Plan), consistent with the project’s Project Schedule, and to ensure the issuance of design deliverables accordingly specific 

Your Profile

• Education: Bachelor degree in Electrical/Power/ Energy Engineering or equivalent
• Relevant professional experience: > 9 years 
• A certified electrical engineer (min IV A and IV B) with an extensive knowledge across electrical engineering discipline. Excellent understanding of the business context, all interfaces and interdependencies and manages all aspects related to electrical discipline of RES projects and development of electrical  substations.
• Demonstrated Experience with Medium/High Voltage power plants/substations design, renewable energy projects design.
• Requires a Bachelor´s degree in Electrical / Power / Energy Engineering
• 3+ years of experience in renewable energy, solar projects experience involving clients is an advantage
• ANRE certification IVA and IVB would be considered as an advantage
• Willing to travel to contractor’s site, fabrication yards and engineering location
• Excellent organizational skills to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines
• Proven ability to successfully procure, monitor, and assess execution contractor
• Engineering and/or Construction experience in the solar PV industry and implementation of PV projects, Solar Power Plant knowledge is preferred
• Self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments
• Expert knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of electrical power systems, software tools to evaluate such and design practices as they relate to FEED, Detail Design, Construction, Commissioning, and plant Start-up / Black Start.
• Expert knowledge of design deliverables associated with Electrical design
• Responsible for understanding and implementation of technical regulations and standards for the industry and various regions (IEC, IEEE,etc.)
