Your tasks

  • Develops and proposes the strategy for electricity, renewable power and natural gas supply & optimization in alignment with the assets and with the approval of VP Value Chain Optimization and Site Management level.
  • Monitors and optimizes the gas & electricity demand (incl. forecast of consumption 15 min granularity and nomination), production and imbalances of the R&M assets and contracts in accordance with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Planning and budgeting for MTP budgeting process for all internal & external electricity and natural gas costs of R&M division considering MTP volumes received via E2E Planning team and aligned with R&M Controlling (monthly basis for upcoming year). Calculates and updates volumes and prices for gas, electricity for monthly, quarterly and annual planning rounds.
  • Lead commercial negotiations for all internal electricity full supply contracts, renewable power purchase agreements, natural gas full supply contracts and any other associated commercial activity with internal counterparts from Gas & Power division (and external where needed i.e. BG, RS, MD) in close alignment with the asset responsible, legal, finance and risk department.
  • Perform hedging for natural gas and power hedging (via market access BU) according to own use principle and financial/physical hedging for electricity in line with approved supply strategy, to reduce price risk and optimize utility costs for R&M sites including KPI investigations.
  • Close alignment with the assets, E2E planning team and G&P division regarding monthly demand, to optimize acquisition cost. Regular exchange of hedging updates and check on contractual surcharges and price formulas plus other costs (e.g. grid costs) to be reflected in planning models of our refineries.
  • Confirmation of correctness of received electricity and natural gas invoices in regard of hedged volumes and prices for R&M assets as well as for PPAS. SAP check of all electricity and natural gas invoices for refinery Petrobrazi.
  • Definition of electricity supply strategy and creation of subsidy application documents for electrolyzer projects including negotiation and organization of signed MoUs to prove renewable power availability within Romania. Support of project teams to consider correct prices for utilities within their business cases.

Your profile

  • University Degree Master in Engineering, Power, Economics or equivalent
  • Relevant professional experience: >9 years
  • Excellent knowledge of power plants and their economics, supply and trading of gas and power in Romania. Solid skills and broad experience to transact gas and power, manage and liaise with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • National and international knowledge of the power and gas market.
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills and ability to carry out multitasking activities.
  • MS Office knowledge.
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills. 
  • Adaptability in crisis situations and taking responsibility.
