Sr. Expert HSSE

Your Tasks

• Responsible for Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE), risk management activities associated to the execution of renewable energy solutions (RES) project portfolio, advising and supporting the management team on all HSSE matters, helping to implement best industry practices,
• Responsible for coordination, development of HSSE Project Management Plans, Project HSSE Risk Registers, facilitation of PHA studies; coordinates the HSSE pre-qualification phases and contractor evaluation within the bidding processes, for high and medium risk service acquisitions; performs HSSE management system audits, contractor capability assessments and audits.Coordinates Process Safety Management (PSM) activities associated to the operational Assets of Gas & Power division; coordinates the development of benchmarking studies, reliability / availability / maintainability and process hazard analysis.
• Maintains constant direct interactions with operations and project management organization, coordinates the implementation of best industry standards and tools in the field of safety culture, occupational and process safety, security, environmental and fire protection, health and emergency situations management.
• Establishes, manages and monitors to be accomplished the requirements of standards, processes, communications, trainings and systems on strategic direction, planning, continuous improvement and people development in relation to HSSE topics.
• Provides personal development and trainings plans for Low Carbon Business Renewables Management and contractors
• Assures the adequate requested input for safety studies for new developments and projects and assures quality control in the peer reviewing and toll-gating
• Contributes to OMV Petrom's HSSE strategy, supporting the operational management in defining and implementing the annual HSSE strategy and plans via projects, initiatives and by ensuring full alignment of standards, KPIs, practices

Your Profile

• Education: Bachelor degree in Technical studies, electrical, mechanical engineering, instrumentation or equivalent  
• Extensive knowledge and proven experience (9+ years) in relevant roles impacting HSSE within Renewables  Energy Solutions(e.g photovoltaic, wind energy, battery storage, hydropowerplant  ) activities: construction, project management, operations & maintenance
• Technical background preferred or strong operational experience
• Experienced in working with intercultural teams
• Deep understanding of national and international regulatory framework  that apply to the development and operation of wind energy , photovoltaic sector, battery storage activities ( relevant safety and technical regulations,  international industry standards and best practices and tools).
• In-depth knowledge of international and local HSSE legislation, standards, and best practices (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001)
• Strong understanding of environmental impact assessments (EIA), risk assessments (RA), and process hazard analysis ( PHA )
• Demonstrated experience with construction safety in renewable energy projects (EPC phase, grid connection, commissioning)
• Experience in implementing safety programs across multiple sites or large-scale projects
• Familiarity with incident investigation methods (e.g. Root Cause Analysis, 5-Whys, TOPSET methodology, etc)
• Ability to audit and evaluate HSSE performance indicators and compliance (internal/external audits)
• Working knowledge of emergency response planning and crisis management
• Solid grasp of project management frameworks and interaction with engineering, procurement, and construction teams (EPC)
