Your tasks
- Ensure implementation of guidelines, processes and procedures for process safety activities either during projects development or as part of existing operated E&P facility and/or pipeline
- Act as knowledge centre for process safety engineering discipline for Projects and for Operated Assets & Operated JV teams, providing steering, advice and recommendations throughout facilities’ lifecycle
- Steer & guide process safety representatives within Operated Assets & Operated JV responsible for the management of process safety risks for surface facilities in operation, and consolidate and maintain and updated Relative risk ranking register for operated facilities
- Consolidate the reporting, performance and follow-up of safety studies for operated facilities (e.g. OIA’s, retro-HAZOPs, HAZIDs, MAE audits etc)
- Ensure that all the actions from the safety engineering studies and risk assessments are integrated in the design and properly closed out in ARA
- Support process safety representatives within Operated Assets & Operated JVs responsible for the identification, verification and maintenance of safety critical elements, and consolidate reports
- Contribute in OMV-Petrom project management teams & Operations teams in improving process safety/technical safety related aspects in design and during modifications in the running facilities in light of safety studies/assessments e.g. fire protection systems (active and passive), fire and gas detection system, ESD systems, plant integrity, layout safety, hazardous area classification, safety in operations and maintenance
- Act as a key contributor in key project activities/ deliverables/documents e.g. Hazardous Area Classification, HAZIDs/risk assessments, HAZOPs, SIL, LOPA, project risk workshops, design quality reviews, constructability reviews, ALARP workshop, project design philosophies, design documentation on process safety and safety engineering studies (e.g. QRA, FERA, ESSA, ERRA, flare study, dispersion modelling, Demonstration of ALARP/Safety Case) and provides quality control in the peer reviewing
- Support development and maintenance of process safety related documentation, including participation in the development of new Company regulations
- Referring to all main accountabilities of the job position as such mentioned herein or such entrusted by the project manager or direct manager during the course of its activity, the employee provides professional support according to necessities within his/ her area of competence and applies professional expertise in order to assist projects in fulfilling objectives and achieving results by full individual responsibility and involvement
Your profile
- Education: Engineering (e.g. Hydrocarbon Processing / Chemical/Mechanical/Automation)
- Minimum 9 years professional experience in process safety engineering in oil&gas E&P, brownfield and greenfield onshore & offshore
- Strong knowledge of industry standards & practices, particularly related to process safety
- Strong program management and excellent organizational skills are fundamental, as is the ability to liaise with people at all levels of the organization
- Familiar with project delivery activities and with operation of oil&gas facilities
- Working knowledge and experience of industry process safety methodologies and principles, standards and practices
- Working knowledge with relevant application software for Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)
