The position is based in Sofia, where OMV is in the process of setting up a team to prepare and execute an offshore deep water drilling campaign. In this role you are leading an engineering team during the planning and the drilling phase following the OMV Well Engineering Process.
OMV Offshore Bulgaria who is 100% held by OMV Petrom will explore the hydrocarbon potential in the Han Asparuh area in the next couple of years. In the follow-up the company is set to continue operations with an appraisal phase. 

Your tasks

  • Prepares all relevant documentations for the various project phases to meet tollgates and the Well Engineering process requirements.
  • Ensures all wells are designed and constructed in compliance with OMV Well Engineering Process and Technical Policy and actively contributes to the permitting process .
  • Prepares scope of work and evaluation criterias for the various drilling services related tenders.
  • Evaluates related tenders technically and comercially and provides award recomendations.
  • Prepares scopes for engineering studies and follows up / close out any findings from such studies.
  • Ensures full technical integrity of all drilling and workover projects.
  • Prepares the detailed work programs and SID's for operations.
  • Proving front end well engineering design support to the project.
  • Actively promotes continuous performance improvement.

Your profile

  • Master’s degree: Petroleum Engineering / Well Engineering.
  • Minimum of 9 year's experience in drilling and workover operations; Experience on minimum two international drilling operations (development drilling preferable) of which one shall include deep water and MODU operations.
  • Current IWCF recognised certification in well control (IWCF Level-4 Subsea Combined).
  • Knowledge of OMVP common drilling software (IDS, Landmark & PETREL, DrillPlan, ProNova, etc.) and OMVP well engineering process and management system.
  • Regulatory knowledge for offshore work in EU/Black Sea is beneficial.
  • Excellent understanding of all interfaces and interdependencies and manages complex workflows with other discipline. 
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Experience in guidance and supervision of personnel.
