Your tasks
- Leading & ensuring that local team processes & goals are consistent & aligned with the NZ Branch & Vienna Head Office as well as ensuring that local best practice is shared to improve overall global performance within the Subsurface multi-discipline global team.
- Being accountable to identify and mature subsurface opportunities (e.g., new wells, sidetracks, workovers, interventions, stimulation, well optimization) from TG0 to FID in close collaboration to execute opportunities with Project delivery and Well Delivery & Workover departments
- Own all subsurface opportunities and assures the filling & maturation of subsurface opportunities funnel/roadmap.
- Assuring that Integrated Subsurface Models (Well, Reservoir & Facility) are maintained including the update and maintaining of Reservoir / Horizon Maps, well data & production, well correlation and maps.
- Managing interfaces with key customers, in particular Operations and the Tech Center - Subsurface, ensuring that Subsurface departments delivery is aligned with overall New Zealand priorities as well as frequent engagement and close collaboration with key stakeholders, authorities and regulators (e.g. NZPAM, MBIE, JVs). with key stakeholders, authorities and regulators (e.g. NZPAM, MBIE, JVs).
- Being accountable for ensuring that the Subsurface NZ team is aligned with the TOM organizational vision & changes, delivering goals, processes & opportunities, including routine workflow management, delegation, leadership, training, development and mentoring of staff.
- Accountable for Annual Reserves Review, Reserves reporting and ensuring that there is appropriate internal & external assurance. Accountable for quality well and reservoir surveillance planning, execution support and data evaluation.
- Being responsible for people & competency development of the Subsurface team and promotes the team to continuously seek to identify and implement efficiencies through new ways of working, innovation, new technology and digitalization.
- Assures the production management framework is implemented and owns the subsurface chokes (Reservoir & Production), participates in periodic reservoir, well and integrated field reviews.
- Ensuring that HSSE, commercial, financial, environmental and external stakeholder views are understood and incorporated into plans and activities as well as leading the different business functions in New Zealand to help drive digital transformation projects at OMV including IT / OT / IM Data.
- Being accountable for delivery of Production planning & forecasting for the Mid Term Planning Process, and periodic routine production reporting, planning & forecasting and sensitivity analysis in support of gas, condensate, LPG and oil production scheduling, and for commercial / gas contracting purposes.
Your profile
- University Master’s Degree/Diploma in the field of Petroleum Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 15 years of relevant professional experience in the field of Subsurface.
- Track record of delivery in multiple reservoirs & countries worldwide as well as excellent understanding of several of the specific activity areas of Subsurface Engineering (especially: Reservoir Management & Fluid Modelling, Reservoir Simulation, Analytical Well & Reservoir Performance Analysis, Well Construction, Production Technology, Reservoir Management, Field Development Planning, Upstream Economics, New Venture Evaluations and Business Processes), and knowledge of related functions e.g. G&G.
- Experience in integrated project work and leading multidisciplinary and culture diverse teams.
- Extensive knowledge and work experience including international posting and operational business exposure.
- Excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English.
