In Chemicals & Materials, OMV through its subsidiary Borealis, is one of the world's leading providers of advanced and circular polyolefin solutions and a European market leader in base chemicals and plastics recycling. Together with its two major joint ventures - Borouge (with ADNOC, in the UAE and Singapore) and Baystar™ (with TotalEnergies, in the USA) - Borealis supplies products and services to customers across the globe. OMV's Fuels & Feedstock business produces and markets fuels as well as feedstock for the chemical industry, operates three refineries in Europe, and holds a 15% stake in a refining joint venture in the UAE. OMV operates around 1,700 filling stations in eight European countries. In the Energy segment, OMV explores and produces oil and gas in the four core regions of Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, North Sea, and Asia-Pacific. Average daily production in 2022 amounted to 392 kboe/d. Its activities also include the Low Carbon Business as well as the entire gas business.

Our business

Your tasks

• Develop, operate & maintain oil movement systems (e.g. ATOS), real time reporting systems (e.g. IP21), yield accounting (e.g. RAFDB) and KPI & management reporting systems (e.g. Power BI).
• Ensure implementation of infrastructure requirements for Advanced Process Control and Realtime Optimization systems regarding instrumentation, automation, basic control and online analytics in cooperation with the respective departments.
• Initiate and execute studies/projects to optimize OT/IT systems and production related workflows in the refineries.
• Ensure availability & high quality of refinery process related data as a solid basis for legal requirements, technical evaluations and economic decisions. 
• Align cross-site regarding strategic planning and develop a consistent business approach.
• Identify optimization potentials and develop proposals for their realization, derive and ensure the implementation of appropriate measures.
• Advise and train managers, schedulers, process engineers and plant operators regarding use of systems and tools.
• Develop and improve IT/OT systems & system architecture to improve usability and keep Cyber Security & Compliance at the state of the art

Your profile

• Master's degree in Chemical engineering, process engineering, process control or similar.
• At least 7 years of relevant work experience, preferably experience with refinery operations or other comparable large scale production facilities.
• Wide range of IT/OT skills like Windows server, Windows Office, SQL (Microsoft or Oracle), Programming skills (eg. PHP, Python, Java Script, c++, C#), system architecture, network technology, Power-Bi.
• Strong team and communication skills as well as higher ability to adapt to the needs of different user groups.
• High affinity with cyber security topics
• Fluency in German and English
