Your tasks
- Steering of continuous analysis of international political landscape and its impact on European and national politics and legislative initiatives as well as its potential impact on OMV's business and understanding of public policy decision making processes on all levels.
- Analysis of geopolitical developments and providing recommendations for OMV's positioning in defined markets or geographical areas.
- Driving the know-how, skill set, and implementation of digital tools and AI based technology into further development of Public Affairs toolbox at OMV.
- Supporting PA and business in our international markets and business projects with expertise and advice.
- Steering of policy processes by managing legal requirements such as analysis of draft laws, by-laws, directives, regulations, position papers, political programs, declarations, and others.
- Support participation in public consultations, commenting on legal draft laws, by-laws, directives, and regulations etc. with the aim to position OMV's interests.
- Group wide coordination of OMV's interests and position: active management and streamlining of the company's different business interests to set a focused and target oriented advocacy/lobbying management plan which reflects the company's strategic business targets.
- Pro-active support of Business projects by ensuring a coordinated and aligned external affairs approach. This requires knowledge on working in/with diverse and multi-language teams, experience in project management and of course profound know -how of the political and legislative environment OMV operates in.
- Managing OMV’s external interests: Advocating OMV’s position in public policy, building sustainable relations with ministries, embassies, industry associations, and interest groups; requires strong lobbying experience in Austria, with EU or international exposure as an asset.
- Advising OMV senior decision makers on their interaction with decision makers and institutions in the public policy sphere.
Your profile
- University degree Master/diploma in Law, business, political science, international relations, trainee program in relevant organization such as WKO or IV with international/EU focus or OMV of advantage / diplomatic expertise of advantage and relevant professional experience >7 years.
- Cross-industry experience and deep understanding of Public Affairs methodologies and new ways of PA work.
- Strong business orientation and commitment, excellent communications/social skills as well as cross-divisional working attitude and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent writing skills, high flexibility and stress resistance, attention to details and hands-on mentality as well as in depth knowledge of EU and AT legislative and regulatory processes.
- Experience with lobbying processes, networking skills with an existing network of political decision makers relevant to OMV as well as extensive knowledge of European Institutions preferably through firsthand experience, experience in digital skills and experience in diplomatic service.
- Oral and written fluency in German and English.

The minimum gross annual salary according to the collective agreement amounts to EUR 90.880,-- all-in. Depending on skills and specific experience, over-payment is possible.
