Your tasks

 

Leads and develops teams by providing clear direction and guardrails, driving performance, and coaching for success. Fosters a culture of growth, feedback, and collaboration across the business while role‑modelling our Transformational Leadership Competencies.

 

  • As Vice President (VP) Internal Audit you´re leading a team of 15 Experts and report directly to the Executive Board and the Audit Committee, maintaining regular dialogue with Board members on key risk topics, major investigations, and governance matters.
  • You define and continuously evolve the Group Internal Audit strategy in close alignment with OMV Group strategy, ensuring Internal Audit acts as a strategic partner to the business.
  • You lead and further develop the Group-wide Internal Audit function, building a modern, future-ready audit organization with strong finance, governance, digital, IT and AI capabilities.
  • You develop and oversee the annual audit plan that is responsive to changes and supports informed decision-making at Executive and Board level.
  • You are supervising the execution of audits across the whole Group, ensuring the highest standards of audit quality, methodological rigor, and professional judgment.
  • Identifying structural weaknesses, root causes of inefficient or uneconomic practices, and systemic control gaps, and providing actionable recommendations for sustainable improvement is your responsibility
  • Furthermore, you ensure an effective follow-up on audit findings and recommendations, monitoring timely implementation of agreed corrective actions and escalation of unresolved issues.
  • You proactively advise senior management on significant control, compliance, governance, IT, and cyber-related risks requiring immediate attention or strategic intervention.
  • You take care of establishing strong, trust-based relationships across the whole Group, supporting management in strengthening internal controls, risk management, compliance, and governance frameworks.
  • The role includes international exposure and requires frequent travel to decentralized locations.

Your profile

 

  • Wide ranging knowledge and experience across all aspects of Internal Audit acitivities, such as internal auditing principles, practices and standards, modern digital tools and techniques and a high degree of personal integrity.
  • You have minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience and have led multi-disciplinary teams in an international environment. Work experience in one of the main auditing companies is an advantage.
  • Experience in highly structured multi-cultural environment  with solid understanding of the organization´s broader business imperatives.
  • You have a master’s degree in information technology, business administration, finance, engineering or economics. Alternatively, evidence of appropriate training in the audit area would be considered an asset.
  • For this position austrian or international professional qualification such as StB, WP, RA, ACCa, CPA, CIA, CFE or equivalent would be important.
  • Strong analytical skills, as well as excellent communicationskills in German and English.

The minimum gross annual salary according to the collective agreement amounts to EUR 135.618,- all-in. Depending on skills and specific experience, over-payment is possible.
