OMV's Fuels & Feedstock business produces and markets fuels as well as feedstock for the chemical industry, operates three refineries in Europe, and holds a 15% stake in a refining joint venture in the UAE. OMV operates around 1,800 filling stations in ten European countries. In the Energy segment, OMV explores and produces oil and gas in the four core regions of Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, North Sea, and Asia-Pacific. Average daily production in 2022 amounted to 392 kboe/d. Its activities also incl
ude the Low Carbon Business as well as the entire gas business.
Position Purpose
Provides legal advice to all functions within OMV NZ. Provides legal research, opinion, contractual reviews and document preparation. An experienced professional with a solid understanding of the organisation who largely works independently.
Responsibilities
Provide legal research and other support to the Senor Expert Legal Counsel and Head of Legal across all matters generally.
Assisting the Procurement team to negotiate a varied range of contracts to support drilling projects, operations activities both on and offshore, IT and other standard business contracts.
Providing advice to Exploration, HSSE, and Assets regarding environmental consenting and other statutory requirements applicable to various projects.
Preparation and assisting negotiation o the full range of OMV’s commercial arrangements including contracts in respect of all permit interests and project development requirements, gas sales contracts, liquid sales arrangements, product transportation and other general commercial arrangements.
Provide legal support to all business development activities including acquisitions and divestments, farm-ins/outs, and in particular with respect to new energy opportunities.
Supporting relevant business areas in resolution of disputes with contractors, joint venture partners and others.
Provide legal advice to the Senior Expert – Compliance with regard to compliance issues, and support for the running of the annual compliance survey.
Complete reviews of the company’s governance systems and documents as appropriate.
Provide legal advice to the Exploration department in relation to OMV’s exploration activities.
